Sax in the Dark

from Blue Two by Red Ankh

/

lyrics

One winter day he came to me
And when he played I almost lost it
He came with no food, no weapons, just a
Silver saxophone across his back
His song restored our hearts once again
Took our minds off of the darkness
The horrors out side seemed to disappear
When he played for us that special tune

When the storm came he fought
Low on rations he starved
For the children he played
A magic tune

The saxophone man, he is gone now
But what he played went some thing like this

Through the dark
Showed no fear
Played away
All our fears

The mysterious saxophone player
Was a kind and gentle man
Though jealousy came from the others
He was accepted in the end
An honest man generous to all
But what I recall most was the tune
Now that there is light again
I wish for no thing more than to thank him

When the storm came he fought
More food for us he caught
For the children he played
A magic tune

The saxophone man, he is gone now
But what he played went some thing like this

Through the dark
Showed no fear
Played away
All our fears
